I’m a Family Medicine Physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice (FAAFP). My clinical practice includes one-on-one patient consultations encompassing the full scope of Family Medicine. I love what I do! Of all the things I do in my current role, I most enjoy helping my patients achieve small successes; such as losing 5 pounds, getting their sugars under 200, starting an exercise program or simply feeling better when they leave than they did when they came in. It’s amazing how these little things always lead to positive changes in their lives.
As a result of working with me, my patients really gain an understanding of their medical issues but most importantly they get solutions. I explain things to them fully so that they leave with a better understanding and can therefore feel motivated to make the changes necessary to help themselves. I am committed to finding solutions to help them live and feel their best!
I’ve pursued medicine since I was in high school. I vividly remember volunteering at the University of Chicago as a Child Life Volunteer in the Pediatric unit. I enjoyed taking care of the children in the hospital, making them smile and talking with their families. That experience changed my life and every since then, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. To this day, I love helping my patients learn how to improve their health and live a full and productive life free of illness.
Every single day I get great satisfaction from the “Aha!” moments when patients tell me “No one ever explained it to me like that before!” In my years as a doctor I find patients of all ages telling me that they could never find a doctor who understands them, speaks to them with respect or takes the time to understand them, their culture and their individual experiences. This is one of the most fulfilling aspects of what I do.
I really enjoy going for walks/runs out in nature. It is great exercise and it relaxes and de-stresses me. My favorite musical group to this day is New Edition. I’ve probably seen them in concert at least 10 times!
I’ve been married to my amazing husband for almost 20yrs, and we have two active teenaged children. My family is EVERYTHING and any time I get to spend with them is special to me!
I’ve been honored to receive numerous recognitions including: the American Academy of Family Physician, Fellow 2017
Advocate Physician Partners Exemplary Physician for top performance in achieving Exceptional Clinical Integration Outcomes, 2015.
Healthy solutions for busy women who want to reduce stress, gain energy and feel amazing.
